Noki’s Walkies Wellbeing & Adventure Leader

We’re looking for the right person to join Freeland K9 as a Noki’s Walkies Wellbeing & Adventure Leader.

This is not just a dog walking role. Our clients trust us with their dogs, their homes, and their routines, and we take that responsibility seriously. Everything we do is built around one simple principle — the dog always comes first.

That means making thoughtful decisions, working at the dog’s pace, and providing calm, consistent care that supports each dog’s wellbeing, not just getting them out for exercise.

Through Noki’s Walkies, we provide structured, reliable walks with a strong focus on welfare, behaviour, and individual needs. We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about dogs, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of something built on trust, consistency, and doing things properly.

What the role involves

The role includes collecting and walking dogs safely and professionally, either on a solo basis or in carefully matched small groups. Each walk supports the dog’s individual needs, routines, and ongoing training where appropriate.

You’ll be responsible for travelling between clients and maintaining the high standards expected by both Freeland K9 and our clients.

A key part of the role is providing consistent walk reports and updates after every walk. This includes creating consistent social media updates, shared through the Freeland K9 / Noki’s Walkies account.

This is a role that requires independence, consistency, attention to detail, and strong communication throughout.

You’ll be part of a small, supportive, training-led team within Freeland K9, where we always take the time to do right by our clients.

What we’re looking for

This role would suit someone who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather and physically fit, with the ability to safely handle active dogs and deliver walks that support their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Reliability is essential. Our clients depend on us, and consistency matters.

You should be kind, patient, and gentle in your handling, while also being confident with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience and a good general understanding of dog behaviour, who is genuinely interested in science-based, welfare-led training.

You’ll need to be able to think clearly, make good decisions, and adapt when things don’t go to plan. Flexibility, responsibility, and professionalism are all key.

Strong communication skills are essential, both with clients and within the team.

We’re also looking for someone who is committed to continued professional development and takes pride in doing the job well.

Honesty and integrity are expected in all aspects of the role.

What we offer

You’ll be part of a small, supportive, values-led business where welfare and trust come first. We take pride in what we do and the standard we work to, and we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that.

We also work closely with the team at Esk Valley Dog Training. For the right person, there is also the opportunity to continue learning and developing within the role.

Important information

This is a self-employed role, so you’ll be responsible for your own tax, insurance, and ongoing professional development.

Essential Requirements

- Full, clean UK driving licence

- Access to a suitable vehicle for transporting dogs safely

- Appropriate insurance (or willingness to obtain before starting)

- DBS check (or willingness to obtain before starting)

- Canine first aid qualification (or willingness to complete at the earliest
opportunity)

- Relevant qualification in dog training, behaviour, or animal care

- Previous experience in a professional dog walking or training role

Desirable Requirements

This work is incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with real responsibility. It involves all weather working, muddy days, busy schedules, and being trusted with dogs who may need patience, structure, and careful handling.

We’re looking for people who understand that and still feel excited by
the opportunity.
